Italy is a place you can’t walk through without appreciating and getting seduced by the charm that comes off from the Adriatic Sea. Venice is aptly named Italy’s most beautiful city. The city was built on over 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic sea, making it a city on water (a floating city). There are no roads, just canals.
However, with its beauty, charm, and lots of water come the flood experienced by most of the city. Due to poor environmental sustainability, the ocean level keeps rising and the flooding keeps worsening in Venice.
To prevent this, activists started investing in getting advanced flood gates and other technologies that can help reduce the increasing ocean level.
Venice remains the city of love and attracts millions of tourists every year. However, you can visit the city to contribute to the economy and sponsor local environmental preservation efforts.
The Amazon is the largest rainforest on earth, and it covers about 40% of South America. It is one of the great tourism centers where tourists get to see scarlet macaws and blue poison dart frogs, jaguars, and brown-throated sloths.
This great rainforest has now become a shadow of itself and too fragile due to climate change. The trees are parched due to severe drought which also increases their susceptibility to forest fires.
Stonehenge draws more than a million visitors to its giant stone circles, the giant stone circles are well known. In 2016, UNESCO warned that rising sea levels, declining coastline, and heavier storms pose threats to the Stonehenge monument, which is already happening.
Only sustained climate preservation efforts can slow down global warming, which causes sea levels to rise. If you haven’t visited Stonehenge, make plans to see this wonder of nature and support it with your tourism dollars.
The Alps is a mountain range that has really served skiers as it provides some of the best and most sought after slopes in the world. Due to increased temperatures, the season for winter sports keeps getting shortened as snowmelt occurs at an alarming rate, and if this continues to happen, seeing snow might become a once in a blue moon occurrence.
The world has to go green to slow down or stop the melting of snow in the Alps and other severe climate change. To support green initiatives, buy green products, donate to green initiatives and visit the location.
The Maldives is known for its natural environment, which includes a blue ocean, white beaches, and clean air. It is very popular for tourism and ranked as one of the best recreational diving destinations in the world due to its very beautiful underwater scenery, clean water, and numerous dive sites.
However, the Maldives is one of the lowest-lying countries and it is at a huge risk of vanishing due to climbing tides. The nation has been pleading for infrastructural funding as the whole island could get swallowed completely by the rising waters.
Support the Maldives with your tourism funds and donate to environmental institutions in the region.
The first commercial winery was opened in Napa in 1859. Since then, Napa has been among the recommended destinations for oenophiles, i.e. people who enjoy wine.
Napa houses more than 1,000 wine producers, however, the change in climate temperature has really affected wine growers and producers because of the increased number of summer days and the scorching sun is bad for growing wine grapes. This is a huge hindrance to the wine production business in Napa which if it persists, can halt the business.
If you live in the US or Canada, you’ll understand why Glacier National Park makes our top 10 destinations impacted by climate change.
Situated right on the border of the U.S and Canada, Glacier National Park park has attracted millions of visitors over the years. However, it is gradually losing its glaciers, which is one of the main attractions of the park and the reason for the park’s name.
Due to the rise of global temperature, the size of its different glaciers has reduced, and this reduction is more than 60% (according to the U.S. Geological Survey and Portland State University). As far as we can tell, the loss of ice will continue to happen as long as global warming keeps going on.
Key West is popular for its buildings, suitable conditions for snorkeling, and the relaxed atmosphere. The hurricane that happened in 2017 caused big havoc and the place has also been facing a lot of environmental difficulties as the sea level keeps rising and the state officials are set to elevate major roads which require a huge amount of money.
The Alaskan wilderness is twice the size of Texas and it is a great adventurous place for tourists and travelers. This wilderness is very close to the Arctic in Alaska and this Arctic has started experiencing erosions, sea ice retreat, and permafrost melt which is causing intense landslides.
Also, the high temperature has caused wildfires, leading to the destruction of Alaska’s wilderness. These wildfires are expected to continue as long as the high temperature persists.
The Dead Sea is also known as the ‘Salt Sea’. This is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east, and Israel to the west. Its surface and shores are 427 meters below sea level which is Earth's lowest elevation on land.
Over the years, this sea has been affected by climate change so much that it has lost one-third of its surface area and it keeps shrinking every day, we now have sinkholes appearing on its surface. Asides from the hot temperature causing this, the creation of dams. Pipelines and reservoirs from this sea continue to be a huge cause of its shrinkage and it may eventually lead to the sea being completely dry.
A lot has been said about the effects of global warming on plants, animals, and many other things but much hasn’t been said about its effects on tourism. The beautiful places mentioned above are becoming less of themselves due to climate change. However, you can help by:

Top on the list of current destination searches trending so far is St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Popularly known as the gateway to the Caribbean, St. Thomas can be described as a tropical wonderland with breathtaking hilltop views, crystal clear waters, and hidden coves protecting sugary white beaches.
You don't need to come too prepared for this travel destination, as everything you'd need to enjoy your stay is within the island. Top sites to visit when in St Thomas are the Honeymoon Beach, Pirates Treasure Museum, Water Island, and the Mountain Top.
Although some restrictions have been placed on entry requirements because of the pandemic, you don't need a passport to visit if you are an American. All that is required of you is to show a negative COVID-19 test taken within five days of departure.
Another favorite getaway spot that Americans are adding to their list is the Key West in Florida. This location is famous for its beaches, watersports, lively nightlife, historic sites, and amazing conch-style architecture.
Although the Key West shouldn't be your go-place if you are looking for an affordable travel destination, you can still make it worth your while if you are a good planner.
The key trick (pun intended) here is to plan your trip during an off-season (this might be hard to decipher because of the pandemic), shop around for accommodations, dine in chic, serene yet affordable restaurants and take advantage of the beach and the sunsets; it's free!
The Key West is open for tourists this period, and although some events are being canceled, you are still guaranteed to have an enjoyable trip with a decent budget of $200 per day.
Cancun, Mexico, is another destination with a high search frequency on Kayak. Cancun is a slice of paradise you should consider visiting, especially in 2021. It is the typical playground of most American spring breakers and beach lovers.
Flights are particularly affordable to Cancun and even more so this period. Hence, a memorable trip should fit within any reasonable budget. The most eye-popping sites in Cancun that you should visit include its Playas Delfines, La Isla Shopping Village, Xoximicco Cancun, and its Mayan Museum.
Another exceptional feature of this travel destination is its mouth-watering yet affordable delicacies! If you love tacos, you'd never get enough of it when you visit Cancun.
A trip to Oranjestad is also a travel adventure filled with exciting promises. Oranjestad is a bustling harbor city flanked by malls filled with diverse boutiques, dazzling jewelry stores, and international luxury retailers.
This beautiful city provides travelers with a unique blend of old and new, leaving first-time visitors with an overwhelming charm. At the moment, Oranjestad is travel restricted due to the pandemic; however, all you need to unlock the destination is a COVID-19 test and quarantine for one day before entry.
There are so many scenic sites to visit in Oranjestad. You should consider some popular sites like the Donkey Sanctuary, Eagle Beach, the Butterfly Farm, and the National Archeological Museum.
If you are more in tune with nature and wildlife, then a visit to Anchorage in Alaska should be on the top of your list. There is no doubt that this particular location is a top choice. It offers moderate temperatures and adventurous activities like glacier spotting in Kenai Fjords National Park, mountain biking across Denali National Park, salmon fishing, and dog sledding through the backcountry.
You will get the most of the fun in this location on a budget of $153 per day. There are currently no restrictions upon entry; all required is a mandatory COVID-19 test for all travelers without a fee.
Your travel experience is never complete if you are still yet to tick off Honolulu on your list. Although quite pricey, a trip to Honolulu is nothing short of flawless and an amazing escape from the stress of overcrowded cities.
Apart from its exquisite sites like Diamond Head State Monument and its beautiful waterfalls, it offers a diverse culinary scene to its visitors. Honolulu’s top restaurants are quite affordable, and you are bound to discover tastebuds you didn't know existed.
Most Americans understand that life is a full-time vacation when visiting Miami, Florida. This location is a top destination for culture, art, food, and unbeatable nightlife. There is no shortage of beaches in Miami, and this is a plus if you are looking to make a memorable trip while on a tight budget.
Also, the all-year-round sun is a bonus, especially when you hope to catch a quick "tan." Although the pandemic might have curtailed some care-free fun, if you have a mask while having the best time here, you are good to go.
Atlanta is another must-visit site that has been buzzing this year. Everything is in the mix here, and there is something fun for everyone! If you are an art lover, The High Museum of Art should be foremost on your mind. It is also home to the thought-provoking National Centre for Civil and Human Rights, and if you are looking to shop, you shouldn't miss out on a visit to the Ponce City Market.
You are also going to love Kahului. This destination is fast becoming a trend for avid travelers itching to explore this 2021. Kahului is famous for its youthful vibe. It is a surfers haven. So if you love to surf, connecting with your kind here is a must.
Apart from its endearing natural features, this particular travel destination also offers unforgettable trips to places like the Haleakala National Park, Kaanapali Beach, and the Iao Valley State Park. If you are in America, the most popular route to this top destination is from Los Angeles, and a ticket through this route should cost you about $247 for a round trip.
Another excellent destination you should consider if you are yearning for a trip is Santo Domingo. This destination is probably reserved for the last because of its language restrictions. But if you have a bit of Spanish at your fingertips, then you are good to go!
The best time to plan a trip to this part of the world should be from April to July. It should be avoided during its hurricane season, which is usually from August to October.
Santo Domingo is one of the most affordable travel destinations; you can work with a budget of $106 per day asides from your plane tickets. Your go-to options in Santo Domingo should include taking a trip to the 3 Eyes National Park, the Zona Colonial, the Agora Mall, and the Catedral Primada de America.
Although travelers are presently advised to reconsider a trip to the Dominican Republic, you can still make your trip if you have satisfied all COVID-19 protocols.

There are some things to learn about passport renewal now. Currently, the U.S. Department of State has a backlog of passports waiting for issuance. This has made the renewal process longer than usual.
In this blog, we answer popular questions about passport renewal now. Read on to learn more.
According to the U.S. Department of State, it takes between 10 - 12 weeks to renew a passport. Due to COVID-19, a significant number of passport and travel centers around the country remain shut. For weekly statistics of passport processing in the U.S., visit this page. The government updates the data on the site every Thursday. As of January, there are 934,000 passports waiting issuance. This figure provides an insight into the backlog created by the pandemic.
Short answer: Start the renewal process right away.
Long answer: If you don't have an emergency, you should mail your passport in for renewal now. Since Covid-19, it takes approximately 10 - 12 weeks to process a passport. So your passport will age by 1 - 2 months in the renewal process.
However, emergency cases receive preferential and expedited attention. US Passport centers and agencies can process a passport in 72 hours for emergency conditions like injury, terminal illness, death of a family member, caregiver, or child. To get emergency service, you have to make a reservation at a passport center near you.
Currently, mailing is the primary method to access passport renewal services. Mailing is the preferred option because it involves minimal human contact, making it COVID-19 safety compliant. This method's main drawbacks are the risk of losing your document in transit and possible slow process time. However, you should be able to monitor your application within 7 to 10 business days after your mail is received. Go to this page to track the process - you'll be required to provide your name, DOB, social security number, and a security code to use the platform.
We recommend taking a picture of your passport if it gets lost in transit. When that happens, you have a document to fall back on, and it will save you significant time in processing and renewing your passport.
Travel experts offer two options to this question.
The first option is to wait for the country to enter the third phase of lockdown before initiating the renewal process. At this stage, passport centres allow walk-in/in-person renewals. If you love having personal control of the process, you should follow this option.
Alternatively, you should start the renewal process now. This is a proactive approach. Your passport should arrive just when the international airways and destinations are open to travelers.
No, you shouldn't. Your passport gives you access to the exotic and off beaten paths around the world. If your passport is expired, it is best to renew as soon as possible to avoid last-minute runs and queues. When the world opens, it likely that there will be a rush to renew passports.
At the start of the lockdown in March, the government temporarily suspended expedited passport processing. Thankfully, the Department of State reinstated the service on September 28; however, it has a slower turnaround time of 4 to 6 weeks compared to the 10 – 12 days processing time, pre-COVID.
Among other things, the main point you should take away from this post is that starting the passport renewal process now is best. As normalcy returns, the passport processing time will reduce, and you can get in-person service too.

The mountain range, located throughout Tennessee and North Carolina, contains countless small towns and villages neatly nestled into the ancient hillsides. Visitors to the area can witness the splendor of the mountains by hiking, biking, and rafting, though a casual drive through the winding highways can be just as enjoyable.
Aside from just relishing the scenery, families can also stop into Gatlinburg for wholesome fun such as horse riding, fine dining, and mini golf.
Paul Newman and Robert Redford trekked across Zion National Park in their 1969 film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, showcasing the park’s untouched beauty.
Zion, located in the southwest corner of Utah, is as natural and untamed as any park ought to be. The spectacular area features a canyon of sedimentary rocks, contrasted by a variety of high desert shrubberies surrounding a river. As the cold weather creeps in, the plants lose their chlorophyll, and shift from dark green into a variety of lighter colors.
Many visitors often remark that Zion resembles Jurassic Park, which may not be too far off, as the layers of sedimentary rocks often reveal hidden fossils and remains.
Few areas in the continental US offer as breathtaking views as Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, as the surreal nature seems almost dreamlike.
Though Wyoming is most well-known for Yellowstone, it also offers stunning beauty just a stone’s throw away in the Tetons. The sharp and jagged mountains formed from glaciers cut through the quaint prairies like a hot knife through butter, rising thousands of feet above the surface level. Just below, spectators can witness pine, spruce, and cottonwood trees flickered throughout the grass prairies, as well as mountainous species such as elk, moose, and wolves.
Autumn adventures await in Ozark National Forest, a tranquil setting sure to delight any traveler.
Biking, hiking, and rafting are the best ways to see the Ozarks, as you’ll traverse through countless valleys, hillsides, and stone fields filled with untouched nature. Visitors to the area will surely want to pack their cameras though, as the dramatic scenes of waterfalls and stone formations present views well worthy of any screen saver.
Quaint waterfalls, meandering streams, and gentle hillsides can be found in nearly any direction in the Poconos, which house some of Pennsylvania’s absolute greatest natural features.
Due to their location in the northeast, the Poconos are a bit more commercialized than other ranges. As such, visitors can stay in cabins, hotels, yurts, and campgrounds to enjoy the splendid nature.
Nevertheless, the range still offers unbelievable autumn views of red mulberry, hickory, ash, and sassafras trees that line the roadsides and walking paths. The uncontested views truly do look like something from a Bob Ross painting.
13,000 years ago, Asia was connected to North America via the Bering Land Bridge from east Russia to northwest Alaska. Although that land bridge has long been swallowed by the seas, the same natural diversity can be found just along the shoreline.
The Bering Land Bridge preserve is incredibly remote, but those willing to make the trek are always rewarded with stunning views of lakes, prairies, and endless fields of dwarf birch shrubs that stain the hillsides red.
A-list celebrities love to escape to Montana in the autumn, to visit the likes of Missoula County and other stunning regions.
Missoula is a true gem, as the small town contains a healthy mix of local culture and stunning scenery. Visitors in the autumn can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, such as golf, horseback riding, trail running, and much more.
However, Missoula offers far more than just outdoor activities, as there are plenty of live music patios, delicious restaurants, and art galleries sprinkled throughout the town.
The spirit of the American West has persisted in Durango, Colorado, as the small mountain town rests at the crossroads of nature and tradition.
Classic American architecture lines the streets of Durango, as the town once boomed from the mining industry. Today’s visitors can now relish the quiet area tucked away in southwest Colorado, to enjoy its wholesome culture and exceptional surrounding nature. Those who visit from mid-September to the end of October can take in breathtaking views as the cottonwoods change from soft green to a vivid yellow.
Maine’s Acadia National Park is like something straight out of a movie, as the gorgeous natural region is rich with foliage, rocky shorelines, and exotic wildlife.
Those touring Acadia can enjoy numerous outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The park also consists of sandy beaches, a charming lighthouse, and the booming Thunder Hole where waves create trademark reverberations like a cracking sky. Best of all, those who awake at dawn can peer out over the horizon, to witness the tranquil waters of the Atlantic illuminated by the rising sun.
Whether you’re just looking for your next big trip, or a quick weekend escape, these locations truly are gems that won’t disappoint. So, pack those bags, assemble the squad, and prepare for adventure!

One is a more modern computer-operated telescope. The other was built in 1874, making it the oldest telescope in all of Australia.
The Yerkes Observatory can be found at The University of Chicago. It is considered to be “the birthplace of modern astrophysics.” It includes a 40-inch refractor telescope that you can look through.
Not only is the stargazing special, but the architecture is beautiful. It includes designs of the zodiac and moon phases. It has beautiful grounds that you can walk through as well.
While Chile is a science hub and has quite a few observatories, Paranal Observatory is arguably the best. They are open to the public on weekends, and their famous feature is the VLT, which is short for Very Large Telescope.
The VLT is actually made up of four smaller telescopes that work together to form a super telescope. You can see things in amazing detail that would be virtually impossible to see with just one telescope, no matter the power.
The Canary Islands in Spain are well-known for their stargazing sky quality. In short, it is easy to see the sky clearly here! It lures many star-lovers, both professional and amateur.
The Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory sits on the edge of a huge caldera with about 8,000 feet of elevation. They have so many telescopes here, including the largest solar telescope in all of Europe! And take it from us: gazing at the Sun is an incredible experience!
In the Quinlan Mountains of Arizona, you’ll find a quaint little National Observatory called Kitt Peak.
They boast extreme stargazing diversity with about 22 different optical telescopes. Three of them are open to the public during their scheduled observing programs.
Mauna Kea in Hawaii gets clear skies pretty much all the time. So, you can basically always trust that you’ll see something good here. They have a multitude of telescopes stationed at various altitudes. If you don’t feel like climbing all the way to the top of the volcano, you can make some pit stops closer to the ground.
The Onizuka Center for International Astronomy Visitor Center hosts nightly stargazing programs that are free and open to the public. This includes one of those fantastic solar telescopes that we were already raving about!
We had to add one more Chilean observatory on this list. La Silla sits at about 8,000 feet of elevation, freeing it from the light pollution of civilization down below. It also has excellent stargazing weather for most of the year.
Their famous telescope is the High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher, which the professionals use to discover new planets outside of our solar system.
Visit the South African Astronomical Observatory to gaze through the SALT (South African Large Telescope.) It is the largest optical telescope in the entire southern hemisphere. Now, what exactly does that mean? It means that you can see objects that are a billion times smaller than what the naked eye can see. That is a really difficult number to even conceptualize.
If you visit during the day, you can go look at this telescope. At sundown, they offer two different telescopes for regular visitors that want to stargaze.
Time to level up your vacation and seek something truly out of this world! You can hit up some amazing observatories right here in the states or check out what the rest of the world has to offer.
Either way, we’re sure it will be a stellar adventure!!

Baylor University was originally established when Texas was still the Republic of Texas. It was almost named San Jacinto University. Instead, it was named after R.E.B. Baylor, a Baptist minister and co-founder of the school.
Baylor University is heavy on Georgian architecture, giving it a comfy, yet regal atmosphere. You’ll definitely want to go see the Draper Academic Building, which has arguably the most beautiful architecture of the whole school. You might also want to see the McClean Foyer of Meditation area, which is modeled after the Leighton House Museum in London.
Berry College is a quaint school that was built to accommodate the underprivileged kids that lived in the mountain towns nearby. While it has a small student body, it has 27,000 acres of gorgeous land and gothic style architecture.
The most standout building is the Ford Dining Hall. The whole campus seems to just blend in with the natural scenery as if it was always meant to be there.
Calling all future chefs! You will definitely want to check out the Culinary Institute in New York. While you’re just a train ride from the big city, you can remove yourself from the noise while you’re on campus. It overlooks the Hudson River, and it offers a peaceful academic experience.
This college was actually the first in the United States to teach the culinary arts. They also offer some classes for non-students that just want to pop in and brush up on some cooking skills. The school also runs four public restaurants that give the students hands-on experience of what it feels like to operate a popular eatery.
Established in 1769, Dartmouth College is one of the oldest and most beautiful schools in the United States. Thornton Hall and Wentworth Hall are some prime buildings to visit, as they’re the oldest on campus (constructed in the 1820s) and they seem to transport you through time.
However, the newer buildings, such as the Hopkins Center, only contribute to the beauty of Dartmouth. The old meets the new in a beautiful synergy that shows how things grow and change while still sticking to their roots.
Georgetown University in Washington D.C. sure does seem to turn out a lot of bright minds that go on to work in the capitol right across the way. While there, you’ll want to check out The Hill that overlooks the river. Healy Hall is also a winner, as that same architectural team also built the Library of Congress.
Georgetown only takes about 15% of applicants, so it’s a prestigious undertaking. But whether or not you attend, you can still visit to take in the breathtaking campus on the way to your other prime D.C. destinations.
Built in 1824 and founded by the first Bishop of Ohio, Philander Chase, Kenyon College is a liberal arts paradise. It has a beautiful mixture of rich vegetation and urban art installations.

It is sandwiched between two major cities that students can visit on off days, but it still feels like a secluded paradise. Most of the dormitories are still the original gothic-style buildings, which gives students classic college experience. It is definitely one for the books!

You can simply relax and enjoy the view or participate in activities such as hiking or rock climbing here. The beach party scene from The Big Lebowski and some scenes from Iron Man were also shot at Point Dume!
Remember President Snow’s stately mansion from The Hunger Games? It is called the Swan House and it’s at the Atlanta History Center.
The inhabitants of this mansion were once a part of the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Swan house tours are now offered and it absolutely feels like you’re right in the thick of a Hunger Games scene at the Capitol. May the odds be ever in your favor!
Truth be told, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was filmed all over Chicago. One of the most magical things about the film is that it features tried and true Chicago - not just a bunch of fake set designs.
Of course, cult fans are sure to want to hit every spot on a visit to Chi-Town. But we’d recommend The Art Institute of Chicago, which features one of the most iconic scenes. You can feel like Ferris while he tours the museum’s rich artistic history with his pals.

Enjoy! We hope you find something you like.
But before you take off, make sure to pick up a Newverest Scratch Off Map Of The World so you can easily plan and track your travels.
Part of the World’s Biosphere Reserve, Samaria Gorge is a popular destination that offers a glorious overlook of a pine and cypress forest. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can visit what is referred to as the Gates, where the canyons are high and shockingly narrow. But, you can always just take the easy way and turn back before things get too steep!
On top of the Blyde River Canyon, you can see rivers, mountains, and even the sea. Talk about a panoramic view! It boasts shockingly green subtropical foliage and has some of the deepest cliffs in the world. In fact, it’s the second biggest canyon in Africa. If you visit, you’ll definitely want to check out the Three Rondavels, which offers the prettiest view.
Todgha Gorge was carved out over time by the Dandes River that flows through it. The rock walls are very smooth and steep, giving it a unique appearance. This is a popular Morrocan destination and it had a few minutes of fame by premiering on an American reality television series called Expedition Impossible.
Taroko Gorge is a popular site for hiking and white water rafting. You can find it at Taroko National Park to experience its power and beauty. Taroko is translated to: “A living terrace surrounded by three valleys.” The rich natural marble of Taroko Gorge was carved by the Liwu River.
This majestic river canyon located in southeast France is one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Europe. It’s famous for the beautiful Verdon River that runs between the canyon, which shimmers with a brilliant aquamarine sheen. Whether you’d rather hike, climb, or kayak, you’ll certainly enjoy everything that this unique destination has to offer.
This gorge is steeped in legend. It gets its name, Tiger Leaping, from a tiger that was said to have successfully leaped across the river to escape hunters. Some say it’s the deepest canyon in the world, but that’s subject to debate. You may just have to find out for yourself! It’s a beautiful spot year-round, but we recommend that you avoid the rainy season from July through September.
Bryce Canyon is characterized by limestone hoodoo columns that extend as far as the eye can see. It’s difficult to get to, but it’s worth it. This makes it one of the most popular spots for determined hikers and nature lovers. It’s an amazing location for stargazing and if you can make it to Sunrise Point, you can see an entire panoramic view of the hoodoos.
Antelope Canyon is one of the wackiest natural wonders. It’s characterized by uniquely ribboned canyon walls that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. This is because it once sat on a flash flood plain, where the trapped water slowly eroded the walls in conjunction with sub-aerial processes over millennia. Entering this canyon feels like being transported to another Universe!
Fish River Canyon is the biggest canyon in Africa, covering about 2,300 square miles. It goes as deep as 550 meters in some areas. Just make sure to bring plenty of your own water, because apart from the occasional flood, the river that once carved Fish River Canyon is completely dried out today. The vast size of the hiking trail is no joke. It’s considered a rite of passage for determined canyon hikers.
Famously coined, “The Fire Canyon,” Eldgja is the biggest volcanic canyon on the planet. It contains a two-split waterfall, which is the uproarious main attraction. It hasn’t erupted in a very long time. But it is stunningly beautiful to witness, with striking natural volcanic rock and light greenery.
You can find unbelievable cliffs and shocking bluffs all across the world. The United States canyons may be the closest finds, but they are still some of the most beautiful. Those that are ready to cross the seas can hit Africa, Europe, or Asia for even more vivacious discoveries.

]]>With the COVID-19 pandemic, parents are dealing with new territory this year.
For those of you that are homeschooling for the first time, we want to give you some ideas to help make learning fun.
Let’s explore this new kind of learning together.
One of the best things about homeschooling is that kids can learn in more immersive and interactive ways. It’s one thing to learn about plants, animals, or geography in the classroom, but it’s another thing entirely to learn about these subjects while they get to experience them firsthand.
You can take your kids hiking while teaching them about your native geography, for instance. They can learn about the mountains or forests that are native to your area.
See if they can spot any local plants or animals and then learn about what they find! Plus, you can teach them fun and practical skills like camping, fishing, or boating.
These are things that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives!
Children’s maps are a fun and interactive way to learn multiple subjects. You can teach them geography and history while visiting new places to make it real for them.
The Newverest Kid’s World Map and USA Map can help them learn about animals native to each area. Plus, they love the handy scratch-off tool!
You can select puzzles or games that teach them about reading, math, or problem-solving. There are educational puzzle books for any age level. Card games like Uno can teach them about matching numbers and counting. There are even special Lego sets for math or science.
Older children like doing word searches, logic puzzles, or playing chess!
Help your child develop reading skills with the books that they love. You can take turns reading pages and help them along the way. Kids love picking out the books that they want to learn from. Make sure to pick books that challenge them just enough that they make new connections but still have fun.
Craft ideas are endless! You can do paper mache, paint, draw, or scrapbook. Try incorporating art projects into what your child is learning. For instance, if they’re learning about animals, they can practice painting or drawing them.
If you need some ideas, there are tons of online resources with unique crafting ideas.
Plus, there are educational and creative YouTube videos just for kids. You can use those to discover new and fun crafts to do together.
You can even join a community of parents just like you who are homeschooling this year and exchange ideas with each other. The list of things you can find online is endless!
Learning music has a whole host of benefits including enhancing creativity, logical reasoning skills, and the art of practicing. Have your child pick an instrument of their choice!
The internet offers plentiful musical lessons for kids. You can even learn together and your child can write their own songs.
If you or your kids have a favorite travel destination outside of English speaking countries, you can learn the language together!
One way to do this is to make a game out of the words so that they’re easier to retain. One of the best tools for language learning is Duolingo, which offers lessons on almost every single language for free!
Physical education for your child is pretty self-explanatory, considering how actively kids like to play! However, the benefit of homeschooling is the wide expanse of options that kids have available to them.
They can play their favorite sport or do kid’s aerobics for more traditional physical education.
However, you can expand on that in so many ways. They can go exploring out in the woods, run on the beach, or even engage in a fun life skill such as gardening.
It’s never too early to start them on learning how to cook or bake! Again, this is something that they will keep with them throughout their entire lives.
Kids really love making meals together. And there is nothing more enjoyable than being involved in baking their favorite cookies or desserts. You can also get creative and help them make gum, cotton candy, or even their own slime!
If you want to have a lazy day, you can throw something on the television. You can pick your child’s favorite subject and watch a documentary or show together! Some crowd favorites are Planet Earth or Bill Nye the Science Guy.
When it comes to homeschooling, you’ll want your kids to feel engaged while they learn. You’ll also want to avoid burnout yourself, so finding new and creative ways to learn are key ways to ensure that everyone is satisfied.
Changing the routine a little bit each day with something engaging from this list is a surefire way to ace this homeschooling thing!
Did anything on this list catch your eye? What are you looking forward to the most about homeschooling? Let us know in the comments below!

]]>For others, it opens up a whole new window of possibility, because you’re no longer forced to stay in one location to be near your workplace. Some people have even rented mobile homes in order to cross-country travel through the United States while they work!
But, did you know that some countries offer digital nomad visas? This means that you can get a temporary residency in one of these countries while working remotely in order to help them stimulate their economy!
Only a few countries are offering this lucrative opportunity at the moment, but it is predicted that many countries will follow suit. Let’s take a look at the countries that are offering digital nomad visas now, and some of their unique specifics.
If you decide to take the plunge with a digital nomad visa, make sure to pick up a Newverest Trek Scratcher to record your stay!
With the COVID-19 pandemic changing the way we understand and approach travel, Georgia has decided that encouraging a longer foreign stay with a digital nomad visa will help stimulate the economy while reducing risk.
Tourism in Georgia was on the up-and-up pre-coronavirus, but Georgia’s fast and serious response to the pandemic worked out in their favor. Now, they would like to re-open their borders slowly and safely as the situation develops, starting with digital nomad visas.
Digital nomads can live in Georgia on the visa for at least six months or longer, provided that they quarantine for the first two weeks upon arrival.
Remote workers from any country are eligible, as long as they commit to staying there for a longer-term.
This is a great place to choose if you’re looking for a low cost of living and are interested in exploring a thriving and enriching culture.
Estonia is launching this brand new digital nomad visa as a next step up from their successful e-residency program. This new opportunity will be introduced in phases, but Estonia hasn’t disclosed all of the details yet.
As of right now, they are projecting allowing about 1,800 visas a year for stays that last at least twelve months.
Estonia’s visa is unique in that you don’t have to be a freelancer in order to be eligible. You can be officially employed by a company as long as you work remotely.
Barbados has jumped on the digital nomad bandwagon as well with a 12-month visa. If accepted, all you need to do is show a negative coronavirus test result as recent as 3 days before your flight, and you need to wear a face mask at the airport.
Barbados, of course, has tropical appeal for those of you that are drawn to the coast. Plus, you can plunge headfirst into the Bajan culture, entertainment, and food. What could be better than that?
The Czech Republic digital nomad visa is a little bit tricky. It’s not technically a ‘digital nomad visa,’ but they have a special business visa that does apply to digital nomads. However, the visa needs to be requested in-person with the Czech Consulate and it can take three to four months to be approved.
That being said, the cost of living in the Czech Republic is rather moderate and considered affordable for the average American. Not to mention the lure of castles, the rich culture in Prague, and the fact that you’re right in the epicenter of Europe! You can easily reach anywhere else in Europe by train.
Portugal has a visa for temporary residents that digital nomads can also use. With it, you can stay in Portugal for a year or longer. You will need to contact the Portuguese Consulate to see if you are eligible. If you make passive income from pensions or investments, you can also apply for a Passive Income Visa.
The cost of living in Portugal is very affordable, and it’s a beautiful place to live. It has gorgeous landscapes, world-renowned food, and plenty of historic sites if you’re a history buff.
Remember that you have several things to consider before making the right choice for you. Once you decide where to go, you might have to jump through a few hoops to make it possible.
First, keep in mind that each country’s digital nomad visas have their own regulations, limitations, restrictions, and eligibility rules. Estonia, Georgia, and Barbados are the easy countries because they are specifically trying to stimulate the economy due to challenges from COVID-19.
Make sure to calculate your income and cross-check it with your place of choice’s cost-of-living to ensure that it is viable for you. Also, remember that countries might limit the capacity of eligible visas. So, if you aren’t accepted for one year, that doesn’t mean that you won’t be accepted next!
If this is something that you really want, act fast, be persistent, and don’t give up!
]]>Now, we know that the COVID-19 situation is preventing us from filling the stadium seats at this time, but we can always dream of our future baseball games! Eventually, we’ll be eating cotton candy while our favorite team wins again, so we want to prepare for that moment.
We’ve rounded up our ten favorite baseball stadiums and why we think they’re special. Each one is worth visiting at least once! (And you can always plan your visit for a time when your favorite team will be playing.)
Before you set off on your ballpark vacation, make sure to pick up one of our Baseball Stadium Scratch Off Posters to track and plan your trips!
Make sure to bring your own glove during a Colorado Rockies home game! Due to the high elevation of Coors Field, this stadium is a breeding ground for home runs. And not only does this field make for some exciting baseball, but it’s also located in the heart of downtown Denver.
Before you catch the game, you can stop at some local breweries or restaurants for some delicious pre-game fun.
Quite the opposite of Coors Field, Oracle Park is known for its lack of home runs. But don’t worry, this still makes for exciting gameplay in a totally different way.
This park is considered to be the most pitcher-friendly park in the National League. So, whether you get a cutthroat shut-out game or plenty of in-field plays, it is sure to be a show to remember!
T-Mobile Park’s star feature is its retractable roof, so don’t worry about any rain-outs! It is known as a “retro-modern” park, which means that it includes cozy modern amenities, but it is built in a style reminiscent of the ballparks built in the 1950s.
It has luxury seating, a fabulous selection of food stands, and even a chandelier made out of baseball bats!
Re-built in 2009, the new Yankee Stadium spared no expense. It has sought to preserve much of what made the original Yankee Stadium special while adding its own innovative spin to the park.
The outside of the stadium maintains its original look from 1923, while the inside hosts a much larger audience space with new and improved amenities. The ballpark itself maintains the dimensions of the 1988 stadium. All in all, it’s a perfect blend of modernization and tradition!
If you wanted to catch a game at Petco Park, you could take the easy San Diego Trolley right to the south side of the stadium. It was designed in colors meant to represent the city of San Diego with sandstone for the coastal cliffs, blue for the sea, and white for the boats docked along its shoreline.
A portion of the stadium is structured into the buildings and amenities, giving it an open and inviting appearance. The Park at the Park is an open grassy bluff that fans can pay a mere $10 to set up their own chairs or blankets and cozily watch the game.
Oriole Park is the first ballpark to have coined the trend of the “retro-modern” stadium that ballparks around America have utilized in their own designs.
If you’re into it, you can score some seats at Oriole Park that have a gorgeous view of the Baltimore Skyline. Just imagine that view at sunset! It’s famous for its B&O Warehouse that historically sits on one side of the field.
Wrigley Field is known for its ivy-covered walls surrounding the outfield, curating a gorgeous and open vibe. The ivy changes colors throughout the season from light green in the spring, to darker green in the summer, to red in the autumn.
When a baseball lands in the ivy, the batter is given a “ground-rule double,” allowing all runners to move two bases. We love how this stadium rule can really individualize the game!
This is a great stadium to catch a spring or fall baseball game to experience the heated seating that Target Field offers. Chilliness is no match for the ballgames that take place here!
Plus, this park is located in the Minneapolis Warehouse District, so you can hit some amazing bars and restaurants on your way to the game.
This retro-classic field has a full panoramic view of the St. Louis skyline. The space has an open and airy feel no matter where you’re sitting. The best part about the view is the famous St. Louis Arch that paints the background.
Not to mention, the concession sells a mean pulled pork BBQ sandwich.
PNC Park is incredibly easy to get to via the Roberto Clemente Bridge, and this stadium has an excellent view of downtown Pittsburgh.
This is one of those stadiums that has a perfect view of the field no matter where you sit, and its foot traffic is easy to navigate. You can easily hit concessions from anywhere and make it back to your seat just in time for the next inning.
No matter what teams you support, it is always worth checking out the home competition and supporting your favorite sport from afar. Whether you’re touring a city of your choice or visiting just for the baseball, these are all stadiums that are definitely worth your time and attention.
Do any of these ballparks catch your eye? Let us know in the comments!

Make sure to reserve a campground at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve. Otherwise, you’ll be kicked out at sunset. But it’s worth the camping trip to lay out under the stars in this beautiful park.
You can see Jupiter and Saturn with the naked eye here. Plus, if you’re lucky, you might even be able to see the International Space Station in Earth’s orbit or view a rock launch from an east coast space center!
Believe it or not, sometimes even the Aurora is visible from this park! Don’t count on it - you never know when the Aurora will make an appearance. But it’s most commonly seen right around the Spring or Fall equinox.
However, you will definitely see the Milky Way distinctly through the summer months, and towards the latter half of the summer, meteor showers are visible. Throughout the rest of the year, different constellations unfold, and there is always something spectacular to look at!
Death Valley is the biggest certified Dark Sky in the United States.
Not only can you go stargazing at any time during the year, but in the winter and spring, you can attend various hosted astronomy events, including the annual Death Valley Sky Festival!
Whether you’re on the east coast, west coast, or somewhere in the middle, there is guaranteed to be a special spot where you can catch some stellar starlight. Whether you’re taking a night trip, camping over a weekend, or attending a smashing event, we hope you have a dream-worthy experience!

So, we came up with this list of the 15 strangest natural United States sites to fulfill your fancies this summer. Everything on this list is a natural structure... and everything on this list is weird. There’s never a dull moment across the United States landscape, as you’re about to discover.
Before you head out for your next destination, make sure to pick up a Newverest Trek Scratcher to track your journeys!
Okay, let’s get started!
It is a truly mystifying experience to be, quite literally, inside of a glacier! But, you have to earn it (we think that’s part of the fun). Apart from the blistering cold, it’s tricky to get to these glaciers, but it’s so worth it. The ice caves can only be reached by kayaking to it. Upon your arrival, you still have to hike to make it to the caves. However, it is truly another world once you get inside. It feels like you’re in some kind of exotic space aquarium!
The Wave is a bizarre formation of sandstone that is characterized by rolling coils that resemble rippling ocean tides. It also requires a difficult hike to reach it. It has protections in place in order to preserve its natural wonder. However, it is open to visitors who request a permit, as long as its beauty is respected!
Exploring the Bisti Badlands feels like you’re stepping onto some sort of extraterrestrial planet! It features attractive rock hoodoos that stand like tall and strange natural statues overlooking the vast wilderness. Various activities are offered there, such as hiking and camping.
Badwater Basin is the lowest elevation site in all of North America at over 280 feet below sea level. It’s an intriguing location due to enormous salt flats that form from rapid water evaporation. This gives it the appearance of a winter tundra, even though temperatures there frequently reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s pretty trippy!
Located in Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Prismatic Spring is the biggest hot spring in the United States. But that’s not the only thing that makes this spot special. The spring is called “prismatic” for a reason. It features shocking rainbow-like colors that truly make it visually stunning.
Presented as a gift from Indian missionaries, the Banyan Tree in Maui is the largest of its species in the United States. It was planted in 1873 and has grown to be about 60 feet tall! The interesting thing about Banyan Trees is their multiplicity of trunks that form from aerial roots of the tree. The Banyan Tree in Hawaii has 16 trunks (not counting the main trunk) and the width of its canopy spans across half an acre of land!
This strange forest in Arizona consists of fossilized tree trunks from the Mesozoic era that have slowly solidified into hard quartz over millions of years. The place looks like it’s trapped in time, as if you’re traversing an ancient ground - which, of course, you are!
New Mexico features one of the most incredibly beautiful caves in all of North America. What sets this cave site apart is the striking coloration of the cave walls that consist of multicolored limestone. It also houses glorious underground chambers that make you feel like you’re in a completely new world.
The gorgeous Kelso Dunes in the Mojave Desert are so smooth and large, you can sandboard or go offroading. They are vast, rolling hills of rich sands that rise up to about 650 feet in some areas.
Horseshoe Bend is a small portion of the Colorado River that elegantly wraps around the walls of the Grand Canyon. The water is marked by gorgeous yellows, greens, and blues that developed due to the minerals from the rock that it carves through.
The coastline of Na Pali contains beautiful rock formations with vibrant hues of greens, auburn, and everything in between. The sharp ridges of the rock and rich greenery seem to transport you to a Jurassic era - not to mention the lush waterfalls and beaches that the cliffs spill in to.
The Devils Postpile is one of the strangest natural monuments that the United States has to offer. It features hexagonal basalt columns that formed from glacial and volcanic shifts over a long period of time. (Either that, or it’s the work of aliens). These basalt structures are about 60 feet tall and even host a gorgeous waterfall.
The work of erosion over thousands of years has formed the sandstone wonderland that is Antelope Canyon. Heavy rainfall and flash floods have continuously filled the basin with water, creating exotic hallways and ridges along the walls. Natural art is not made in a day!
The salt flats of Bonneville form like sheets of white ice across a stunningly flat region. However, what truly makes this site beautiful is the way that the sky reflects off of the salt flats. This is the perfect place to view a transcendental sunset.
Coming in at 1,267 feet, the Devils Tower is a lone igneous rock formation along the rich landscape of Wyoming. It was the first established National Monument in the United States and it is considered sacred by the indigenous people native to that region.
If you’re ready to begin exploring the weirdest natural wonders of America, this list will provide endless vacation time! We hope something on this bizarre list of sites grabbed your attention, and we wish you well on your many adventures.
]]>Travel policies are changing all the time, and it’s hard to keep track of everything that’s going on. While, for your own safety, we don’t recommend traveling abroad at this time, we know that some of you will probably do it anyway.
We’ve compiled a list of popular travel destinations that have their borders open to the United States...at least right now. We’ve made sure to research what their travel and tourism policies are so that you know what to expect if you choose to travel to any of these places.
If you do decide to travel abroad, make sure to pick up a Newverest Trek Scratcher to track your destinations!
Starting July 10, Aruba will accept tourists from the United States.
As it stands right now, travelers from most states will be required to show a recent (less than 72 hour) negative test result for COVID-19, or they will be required to take the test at the Aruba airport. However, if you are from what is considered a high-risk state, it is a requirement to take the test ahead of time and show results at least 12 hours before your flight, or you will not be allowed entry.
If you are not from a high-risk state and you are tested at the Aruba airport, you will go under an immediate temporary quarantine until the test shows results, which can take up to 24 hours.
If you receive a negative test result, you will be released from quarantine. If the result comes back positive, you must remain in isolation for two weeks.
If you show documentation for a recent negative test result, you will still receive a temperature check and health interview by a medical professional. If all is clear, you will be free to go with no quarantine necessary.
It’s also important to note that tourists will be responsible for the cost of the test, which is $90. However, Aruba has put Aruba Visitors Insurance in place to cover expenses if tourists test positive for coronavirus during their stay. This insurance is mandatory.
Most businesses are open until 10 pm and masks are not a requirement, but they are highly suggested. Masks, however, are required on the plane to Aruba and in the airport.
Starting July 12, Barbados will begin opening up to international travel. The American airline, JetBlue, will reestablish flights to Barbados on July 25.
On August 5, you can catch a direct flight to Barbados on American Airlines from Miami or Charlotte.
Barbados has travel requirements that are similar to Aruba - a recent negative COVID-19 test result is required, or you can be tested at the airport. If you’re tested at the airport, you will be placed in an immediate quarantine until results are released and you will be financially responsible for the test.
You will also be subject to a temperature check at the airport regardless of test results.
Travelers are also asked to fill out what is called an ED Card online before visiting. The ED Card is short for Embarkation/Disembarkation Card, which consists of answering questions related to coronavirus symptoms.
Visitors will be required to follow all local Barbados protocol, which includes social distancing of at least 3 feet and wearing masks in public.
You can get a flight to Jamaica on American Airlines from Miami, Jetblue from New York, or Delta Airlines from Atlanta.
To visit Jamaica, you need to fill out a Travel Authorization Form, which includes a negative coronavirus test result, before being approved for travel.
You will also need to pass a risk assessment at the airport, which includes a health interview, temperature check, and another COVID-19 test, even after submitting a test in order to arrive. You will then be subject to a 48-hour quarantine in your hotel until test results are released.
Although Jamaica is open for tourists, visiting is limited to a specific area called the COVID-19 Resilient Corridor. Tourists are not allowed to venture outside of this area. During your stay, you will be required to follow local protocol, which includes social distancing and wearing a face covering.
It is also important to note that if you test positive for coronavirus or exhibit symptoms during your visit, you will be placed in mandatory quarantine.
Effective July 15, The Maldives will have very few restrictions placed on international travel. You are not required to show a test result or be quarantined upon arrival.
They’ve also rolled back any additional fees and there are no new visa requirements.
All you need to do is fill out a health declaration card and get a temperature check at the airport.
During your stay, you will be required to wear a mask on public transportation, and if you show symptoms of COVID-19, you will need to be tested.
Tourists are only allowed to stay in resorts. Guesthouses are closed until August 1st.
Keep in mind, even though The Maldives have less restrictions, this does not mean that it is any safer to visit The Maldives than anywhere else. There are reported coronaviruses cases in The Maldives.
Beginning on July 21, the United States and Mexico are planning on reopening the border for nonessential travel.
Some flights to Mexico from the United States are allowed, but they are restricted. Cancun is accepting flights, and Los Cabos is soon to follow this month. However, no official date for Los Cabos has been announced.
Starting July 7, Dubai is accepting United States tourists. Flights to Dubai can be caught via Emirates from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington.
To travel to Dubai, you will be required to download the Covid-19 DXB mobile app, where you can register for your trip and fill out a Health Declaration Form.
You will also need a traveler’s health insurance for the duration of your visit and you will need to show a negative coronavirus test result as recent as 4 days before your departure. If you somehow do not provide proof, you will be tested at the airport.
You may be required to quarantine if you don’t show a negative test result before arrival.
All arrivals will receive temperature screening. If you show any symptoms, you will be tested for coronavirus again, regardless of whether you showed a recent test result.
During your stay, you will be asked to honor social distancing guidelines, wash your hands frequently, and wear a mask in public.
Traveling to St. Lucia requires a negative coronavirus test within 48 hours of your flight. You will also be screened at the airport for symptoms and your temperature will be taken.
Direct flights are available from Atlanta on Delta Airlines, Miami on American Airlines, and New York on United or JetBlue.
St. Lucia also requires that you wear a mask in public at all times and uphold safe social distancing. They are soon introducing new safety protocols to keep taxi drivers and passengers safer to help prevent the spread.
Most local businesses in St. Lucia are open, but they are being carefully monitored with high cleaning standards as a top priority. Social distancing within the buildings of local businesses is also a requirement.
Puerto Rico will be opening for travel on July 15!
You will be required to fill out a Travel Declaration Form and take a coronavirus test 72 hours prior to travel.
If you fail to take the test beforehand, you will be immediately tested at the airport and asked to quarantine for up to 14 hours regardless of the test results.
Restaurants (except buffets) are open with limited capacity. Most hotels, pools, beaches, and other recreational businesses have capacity restrictions as well.
Definitely be aware that there is a 10 pm curfew in Puerto Rico up until July 22, and you are required to wear a face mask. If you are seen in public without a face mask, you may end up being fined! Social distancing must also be honored at all times.
If you decide to travel, please be safe, follow the protocols, and exercise caution. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below!
