How to Roll Your Puzzle Mat
To safely save your puzzle progress, follow these steps when rolling your Puzzle Mat.
Step 1
Prepare the Puzzle
- Move loose or unused puzzle pieces into the sorting trays
- Avoid leaving loose pieces near the edges of the mat
- If needed, keep some loose pieces on the mat but place them closer to the center
⚠️ Important: The closer loose pieces are to the outer edges, the higher the chance they may shift or fall during rolling and storage.
Step 2
Position the Foam Tube
- Place the foam tube along one edge of the puzzle mat
- Start rolling slowly and evenly while gently pressing the mat toward the puzzle surface — light pressure keeps assembled sections stable
- Do not roll too quickly or tightly
Step 3
Secure the Rolled Mat
Once fully rolled:
- Use one hand to hold and stabilize the rolled mat against the surface
- Use the other hand to fasten the hook-and-loop straps
For best stability: secure the center strap first, then the outer straps near the sides.
If your puzzle has an assembled border or frame: position the outer straps closer to the frame area to help reduce movement and prevent separation during storage.
⚠️ Important: Do not lift, flip, or move the rolled mat before securing all straps. Keep the mat in the same stable position until fully fastened.
Step 4
Place the Mat into the Storage Bag
After securing the straps, carefully place the rolled mat into the included storage bag. We strongly recommend always storing the mat inside the bag.
Why? If any loose pieces shift during storage or transport, the bag keeps them contained so nothing gets lost.
Additional Tips
- Store the rolled mat on a stable surface
- Avoid excessive shaking or dropping
- Transport gently for best puzzle stability
- Larger connected sections are typically more stable than loose individual pieces
